  • Research: Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury, The Big Read, The National Endowment of the Arts (NEA), the grant received by Dr. Bo Chang, and various Muncie organizations
  • Determine the main focus of both The Big Read and Dr. Chang’s grant in which to maintain throughout the duration of the project
  • Determine workshop topic and agenda to be presented and obtain approval from Dr. Chang
  • Discuss and finalize weekly meeting times outside of class
  • Complete “Group Plan” assignment on 09/06/15 and update group blog

  • Develop a strong “pitch” to share with Muncie organizations

  • Research chosen Muncie organizations and determine the best way to approach them
  • Visit chosen Muncie organizations and attempt to tap into organizations that they partner with as well
  • Seek out organizations that can provide additional support (food, promotional items, etc.)
  • Complete “Organization” assignment on 09/20/15 and update group blog

  • Finalize workshop date, time, and location
  • Begin advertising The Big Read and workshop
  • Invite Dr. Chang, representatives from chosen Muncie organizations, and other project supporters to attend workshop

  • Determine workshop goals and how to achieve them
  • Determine medium of obtaining feedback from workshop participants
  • Schedule a volunteer photographer or videographer to document workshop (must obtain permission from all individuals present)
  • Confirm: date, time, location, and schedules of workshop volunteers and presenters
  • Obtain workshop materials
  • Complete a practice run of workshop and invite Dr. Chang to attend to provide feedback
  • Hold workshop and obtain feedback from participants

    Excellent group plan! I like the detailed schedule you have listed! You even scheduled a volunteer photographer or videographer to document the workshop! Very thoughtful!

    It is better that you can set up the time and date for the Workshop soon so that you can send out this information when you market the program. People need to know this information in advance so that they can put it on their calendars.

    You can make the size of the fond a little bit bigger so that your readers can read easily.
